Perform maintenance as per manufacturers recommendations. Get scheduled tune-ups and lubricant changes. Use genuine factory parts. | SERVICE
The following is a guideline for on-road (cruiser) motorcyles scheduled maintenance. Other models follow similar guidelines and are reccomended to maintain your machine. Call for more details.
FIRST SERVICE
The critical FIRST SERVICE is recommended at 3 months or 600 miles whichever comes first. The first service is so important because the break-in period is considered the final step in the manufacturing process. During break-in, the peaks and valleys created during manufacture are machined smooth as the various parts mate to each other and seat into working relationships for the long haul. It is of the utmost importance to have the various major systems inspected by a trained technician to ensure proper operation and that no problem areas have developed during this important final step of the manufacturing process.
During the First Service, we will perform the following tasks:
- Change engine oil and filter to remove break in contaminates and inspect for signs of abnormal wear
- Inspect engine idle and adjust as required to ensure proper battery charging rates
- Inspect throttle operation
- Inspect brake system to ensure proper mating and operation
- Inspect clutch system and adjust as required
- Inspect cooling system*
- Inspect tires and wheels to ensure proper psi which promotes tire longevity and proper handling
- Inspect suspension system
- Inspect the drive chain and adjust as required*
- Inspect the final drive system to ensure the proper fluid level is maintained*
- Inspect/top off all fluids
- Inspect steering stem bearings operation
- Inspect critical nuts, bolts, and fasteners and torque as required to ensure proper tightness
INTERMEDIATE SERVICE
The Intermediate Services are recommended every six months or 3,000 miles whichever comes first. The intermediate services are the best way to properly maintain your new motorcycle between the critical first service and the major full services. It has always held true that it is less expensive to maintain your motorcycle than it it to repair it. The most important aspect of the Intermediate Service is the oil change. Oil is the lifeblood of your motorcycles engine and transmission/clutch system. In addition, intermediate services allow a trained technician to inspect the major systems of your motorcycle to ensure no abnormal conditions are developing and take appropriate action before small problems can develop into major ones.
During the Intermediate Service, we will perform the following tasks:
- Change the engine oil and filter*
- Inspect the engine idle and adjust as required to ensuer proper battery charging rates
- Inspect the brake system
- Inspect the clutch system
- Inspect air filter* Inspect the drive chain and adjust as required*
- Inspect the final drive oil level*
- Inspect and top off all fluid levels
- Inspect tires and wheels
MAJOR SERVICE
The Major Services are recommended every 24 months or 8,000 miles whichever comes first. The Major Service intervals are very important because at this pint normal wear components may be reaching the limits of their useful life and require replacement. These items include, but are not limited to, friction brake pads/shoes, tires, air filters, batteries, brake fluids, final drive oils, and engine coolants. As with your First and Intermediate services, the engine oil and filter is changed. In addition, our trained technicians thoroughly inspect your motorcycle to ensure proper and safe operation is maintained. During this service, special tools and equipment may be utilized to bring your motorcycle back into factory specifications and ensure many more useful miles of operation.
During the Major Service we will complete the following tasks:
- Change the engine oil and filter
- Inspect air filtration system
- Change spark plugs
- Inspect the brake system**
- Inspect the engine idle and adjust as required to ensure proper battery charging rates
- Inspect throttle operation
- Inspect carburetor/throttle body synchronization
- Inspect fuel system
- Inspect the choke/enricher system*

* As applicable- service may not apply to all models ** Brake fluid, final drive oil, and engine coolant are recommended to be changed every two years or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first and are included in the cost of the major service. |
